Yoga for Beginners/Gentle Basics

New to Yoga? This is a great place to start!

If you are new to Yoga or just looking for a refresher course in the basics, this is the series for you! In this six week series we will do gentle movements designed to get you more familiar with shapes/poses, while also building strength and confidence. We will learn how to modify shapes and movements to accommodate our bodies and abilites through the use of props and simple adjustments. Please register for all six classes.

You may purchase this as just a six week series or also use your regular class passes.

Reiki and Restorative Rest with Elizabeth and Tracey

The concept is quite simple really. Set an intention, enjoy a variety of restorative yoga poses and relax and de-stress as you receive hands-on Reiki treatments. New to Reiki? Reiki is a practice originating in Japan, and the word itself translates to mean "Universal or spiritually guided life force energy." It is an open gateway to an unlimited supply of unconditional Love. Reiki allows us to tap into our clearest calmest Selves. It can never do harm, is gentle and noninvasive and yet it is also deeply healing. In this workshop, you will be led through a variety of restorative yoga poses while tracey provides Reiki as she feels led by intention and intuition. No prior experience in yoga or Reiki is required to attend. Be sure to drink plenty of water early in the day and after the workshop as your body clears old energy it no longer needs. Class is limited to 10 participants in order to ensure everyone receives adequate attention.

Yoga Nidra and Sound with Tracey Eltringham, E-RYT 500

Join Tracey for a deep relaxation workshop. The workshop will begin with around 20 minutes of gentle movement and then a few moments will be set aside to come up with your specific intention/goal setting. Participants will then set up "cozy nests" which will be used for an extended period of time in savasana. During that time a guided nidra session and sound bath will be enjoyed. Various metal and crystal singing bowls, panda/tongue drum and a few other instruments will be used. The practice of yoga nidra is used to guide participants into a state of deep relaxation while still remaining conscious. It is like a salve to our often overstimulated central nervous system, and is considered a full system of yoga to assist you in connecting with inner peace and improving sleep. Some use it routinely to improve creativity and productivity as well. Come experience the benefits for yourself.

February's Family Yoga will focus on living and looking through a lens of kindness and love. Let's come together on our mats. We'll move and breathe together through poses and activities that promote loving ourselves and each other. All participants will receive a pair of heart-shaped glasses. 
Highlights of Patricia’s yoga teaching journey include offering Family Yoga, as well as Gentle classes, and Yoga for Tweens classes.  She also created and shared a summer Yoga + Creativity camp for ten years.  In addition, she occasionally offers unique workshops such as "Yoga with Nature Walk", "Yoga and Knitting", and  "Mindfulness for Teachers and Parents".  Patricia also leads classes on "Yoga with Children" and "Yoga for Special Needs", as part of The Light Within Studio's 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.

Escape to the Italian countryside for an Italian Yoga Retreat! Urbino is located in a stunning hilly area at the foothills of the Northern Apennines and the Tuscan Romagnolo Apennines. This picturesque medieval city in the Marche region of Italy is a World Heritage Site, nestled on a high, sloping hillside. Its best-known architectural piece is the Palazzo Ducale, rebuilt by Luciano Laurana.

During this retreat, we will stay seven nights in a comfortable 4-star countryside resort. Practice daily yoga overlooking the Umbrian hills, stroll through the streets of Urbino, learning about the magnificent history and visit the famous artist, Raphael's house and artworks. We will explore the local vineyards for wine tasting, and for those wanting to see nature, we will set off for a Kayaking tour. One full day is allocated for unwinding in the onsite spa/sauna or by the pool. Urbino is well-known for its divine cuisine; each night, we will recharge with a slow-paced Italian style of dining and living.

Single, twin and triple shared rooms are available. *Note If you would like to share a room, it's required that you fill the other spaces. If you're a solo traveller and would like to share, please get in touch. We will try our best to find you a suitable roommate. Alternatively, the single room rate will apply.

This retreat is suitable for all ages and levels of practitioners.

Hi Friends!

Thank you for your continued support of our little studio. i’d like to ask you for a favor. You may or may not be aware of the happenings in Tracey’s life. Her daughter Anna will be getting a kidney transplant on September 18th. Anna’s immune system very weak and compromised. Tracey’s husband Matt is the donor. Needless to say, Tracey will have her hands very full. I’m asking that you keep Tracey and her family in your thoughts and prayers. We’re praying for Anna and Matt and all of the medical professionals involved in this process, and for a speedy and uneventful recovery.

If you feel the desire to help, you can drop a card off in the studio. You can also donate gift cards to the giant, Wawa, Starbucks, or HelloFresh. Tracey‘s family has loads of dietary restrictions and she will be traveling back-and-forth to Philadelphia, so this is probably the best way to help!

Ayurveda is an ancient art and science, sometimes called "the sister-science" of Yoga. It is based on an elemental understanding of the composition of all things, and how these elements relate to one another. For humans, understanding our own composition and our relationship to our environment is key to good health and longevity. 

This is a multi-session workshop. We will meet Nov-April on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 1-4 pm.
